Bombers Cruise In Victory Over TwinsBryan/College Station, TX – July 26, 2018 – The Bombers returned to the friendly confines of Travis Field for the first time in over a week, blowing out the Twins 12-1 to start the homestand. The Bombers had no issues getting on base or keeping the Twins off base all night as they only allowed 3 hits on the night. The Bombers got the scoring started in the first inning as Bombers Designated Hitter Ryan Johnson hit a two run single to give the home team an early 2-0 lead. The Bombers would then burst the game open in the third inning, scoring six runs. The third inning featured RBIs from Bennett Inoff, Dylan Gardner, Sam McElreath, and two from Chase Kemp, giving the Bombers a 8-0 lead. The Twins did put across a run in the 4th inning to narrow the lead to 8-1. The Bombers did add another run in the 5th inning on a Chase Kemp sac fly, and three more runs in the 6th inning. The runs in the sixth were produced off a two run double from Sy Snedeker followed by a RBI double from Dylan Gardner. On the mound, starting pitcher Jesse Heikkinen was electric, only allowing a pair of hits and one run, with no walks issued. Tomorrow the Bombers return to Travis Field against the Twins for one of the fan favorite nights of the year, Star Wars Night, and will include a post-game firework show. The Bombers then play a two game home series against the Texas Marshals before heading on the road to Acadiana.
