Bombers Fall in Extra Innings to TwinsTexarkana, TX – July 24, 2018 – The Bombers pitching kept the Twins in check for a majority of the game, but fell in extra innings to the Texarkana Twins 7-6. The Bombers no hit the Twins the first five innings of the game and looked to be in control behind two home runs from Casey Danley. The Bombers started the scoring in the 4th inning when Casey Danley hit his first home run of the game, a solo shot, to put the Bombers up 1-0. Danley would follow that up with another home run, this time scoring two, giving the Bombers a 3-0 lead. The Twins bats would come alive in the 6th, scoring 4 runs to take a 4-3 lead after 6 innings. Cole Coker would tie the game again in the 7th inning, as he hit a sacrifice fly that scored Dylan Bonhert and tied the game at 4. The Twins would answer back in the 8th inning, scoring two runs to take the lead late 6-4. The Bombers would not give up, as the team put together a rally that tied the game after a Cole Coker sacrifice fly and Casey Danley double tied the game at 6 and sent us into extra innings. The Bombers struggled in extras, going down in order at the plate and failing to record and out in the bottom of the inning, with the winning run coming to score on a walk. The Bombers complete their brief two game road series tomorrow in Texarkana. The next homestand begins July 26th and will feature Fireworks Friday and Star Wars Night on July 27th against the Texarkana Twins.
