Bombers Complete Regular SeasonVictoria, TX – August 6, 2018 – The Bombers ended the regular season with some positives to build on as they enter the playoffs, even though tonight’s result did not go their way. The Bombers used a team approach at the plate as all but one starter got a hit in the 7-6 extra inning loss to Victoria. The Bombers and Generals exchanged a pair of runs in the fourth, with the Bombers getting a RBI double from Alex Nielsen and a RBI single from Chase Kemp. The Bombers then took the lead scoring two more runs in the 5th inning as Zach Iverson picked up a RBI on a single and DJ Petrinsky drew a walk with the bases loaded to give the Bombers a 4-2 lead. The Bombers then doubled their lead in the 6th inning, picking up two more runs, as they capitalized on a Victoria error and Cole Coker drove in Sy Snedeker on a RBI single. The Bombers struggled to close this one out as they gave up a run in the 7th, two runs in the 8th, and a run in the 9th to send this game to extra innings tied at 6. The Bombers would work their way out of a jam in the 10th after the Generals had runners on second and third with no outs. Unfortunately, the Bombers luck ran out in the 11th as the Generals scored the winning run on a wild pitch to give us the 7-6 final score. The Bombers will host the first round of the playoffs on August 8th at Travis Field at 7:05. Tickets for the 2018 TCL Playoffs are on sale now at bvbombers.com.
