Bombers Shutout Marshals

Bryan/College Station, TX – July 28, 2018 – The Bombers limited chances for the Marshals and capitalized when opportunities presented themselves in their series opening win in front of the home crowd at Travis Field.

The Bombers were lead on the mound tonight by starting pitcher Austin Hendrix, who provided the Bombers with five shutout innings, striking out seven and allowing just two hits. His performance set the Bombers up as the team was only able to generate 2 runs of offense until the 8th inning. Cody LeCompte came in relief of Hendrix and pitched the final four innings to earn the save for the Bombers.

Offensively the Bombers relied on a few players to carry the load tonight. Center Fielder Casey Danley picked up a pair of RBIs in tonight’s game with a double in the first and a single in the eighth innings. He also came in to score on a Cam Blake single in the 6th inning and a two run single in the 8th inning by DJ Petrinsky.

The Bombers finish the home series tomorrow night at 7:05 for Team Poster Night at the ballpark, when they return to face the Generals. After that, the Bombers head on the road to take on the Cane Cutters for a pair of games before having two days off.
